THE NME AND ROYAL WEDDINGS

I began my career photographing bands and musicians for the NME (New Musical Express), my work then took me into the newsrooms of the National and Regional press, where I photographed some key historical events, such as  State visits and Royal Weddings, including two American Presidents and three British Prime Ministers.

WEMBLEY AND BORIS JOHNSON

I also photographed major sporting events including the Commonwealth Games and Wembley Cup Finals. During this time I won a number of awards for my work including: National News Photographer of the Year, Royal Photographer of the Year and Sports Photographer of the Year, and I even managed to persuade Boris Johnson to be my assistant for a while when we worked on the same newspaper together

PORTRAITS AND PORTFOLIOS

 Since leaving newspapers I have worked in an equally diverse market. I now shoot portraits and fashion for glossy magazines, annual report photography, architectural photography, advertising photography, corporate photography, PR photography, marketing  photography and event photography,whilst also shooting a select number of editorial style  weddings each year. www.paulpickardweddings.com .   I  also shoot model portfolios, actor head shots and musician and singers publicity photography.
